You asked for it and here it is!!! The 1st annual Oak Island Open “Youth” Pier Fishing Tournament!!! A pier fishing tournament just for kids ages 18 and under.

There are three categories -

Category 1 - pinfish, croaker, spot, whiting;

Category 2 - trout, blue, spade, pompano;

Category 3 - flounder, spanish, drum, sheephead

Age categories: Under 5, 6-8, 9-11, 12-14, 15-18 .

Prizes: Trophies and Savings bonds will be given out to winners in each age group and category. Other prizes will be donations of merchandise and gift certificates from local businesses. If you business would like to donate please contact us at: rsquires@ci.oak-island.nc.us

 Fishing begins at 6am and ends at 3pm with a hotdog lunch.  For information on how to register call 278-4747 or 278-5518 or print the registration form.
